WHEN DO THE GATES OPEN?
The Loxwood Joust celebration shall rise once more across the first three weekends of August: 1st – 16th August 2026. Gates open at 10 am – 6 pm each day.
WHERE IS THE KINGDOM OF LOXWOOD?
Loxwood Meadow, West Sussex, RH12 0AL.
CAN I BUY TICKETS ON THE DAY?
Yes, though we strongly recommend securing your passage in advance to guarantee entry, save gold, and avoid disappointment.
Early Bird tickets are released 2nd November 2025.
ARE THERE DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE?
Indeed! Early Bird rates will be available from 2nd November 2025. Seize them before they vanish.
MUST I PRINT MY TICKET?
No scrolls required. A digital ticket on your smartphone will do nicely. Ensure your QR sigil is visible and ready for scanning. Tickets are emailed as a PDF within a fortnight of booking.
CAN I CHANGE MY TICKET?
Yes, at a fee of £5 per ticket, subject to availability. To request a change, email info@thekingdomofloxwood.com with:
• Your ticket reference number
• Quantity of tickets to amend
• Your preferred new date or time
ARE TICKETS REFUNDABLE?
Alas, refunds are not offered. Should trouble arise, our team is happy to help. Please write to info@thekingdomofloxwood.com.
DO YOU OFFER CARER TICKETS?
Yes, discounted Carer Tickets are available for day entry when accompanying a guest who requires additional support. Proof will be requested at the gates. Accepted forms include an Access Card (+1) or current PIP/DLA documentation.
IS THERE PARKING?
Yes, car parking is available at £5 per vehicle (motorbikes free).
Spaces are limited, so it’s wise to secure your spot early via the ticket page.
To avoid extra booking fees, we recommend purchasing alongside your event tickets.
HOW CAN I REACH THE KINGDOM?
Royal shuttles run several times daily between Horsham – Loxwood and Guildford – Loxwood.
Reserve your seat in advance as spaces are limited.
CAN I BOOK A TAXI?
Local taxis are available, though Uber rarely ventures this far into the realm, so plan ahead.
WHAT AWAITS YOUNG ADVENTURERS?
From archery and sword school to face painting, quests, dragon shows, jesters, and jousting. There’s enchantment for every age. Children can meet characters, join workshops, and even train for knighthood. Programmes are subject to change without prior given notice.
WILL THERE BE LIVE JOUSTING?
Without question! The thunder of hooves and clash of lances echo daily in grand tournaments of honour and valour.
MUST I DRESS UP?
Not at all! Although many choose to. Don your finery or come as you are; either way, you’ll feel part of the spectacle.

WHEN WILL THE MAP AND TIMETABLE BE RELEASED?
Both shall be unveiled in the new year. Keep watch upon our heralds (social channels).
WHAT FOOD AND DRINK CAN I EXPECT?
From tavern feasts to sweet treats and mead, the Kingdom’s bites and brews cater to all palates: including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free choices. A full list will be announced in the new year.
MAY I BRING MY OWN PROVISIONS?
Yes, though no dedicated picnic areas exist within the realm. You may return to your carriage (vehicle) to dine and simply request a re-entry stamp at the gate.
IS ALCOHOL AVAILABLE?
Yes, our licensed taverns and bars serve mead, ales, and wines. Outside alcohol is not permitted within the grounds.
MAY I BRING GLASS BOTTLES FROM OUTSIDE?
No, for safety and licensing reasons. Plenty of refreshments await within.
IS THE KINGDOM WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY?
Yes, with accessible parking, pathways, and toilet facilities.
Do note: the terrain is a natural meadow and woodland, so weather may affect mobility. Plan accordingly.
MAY ASSISTANT DOGS ATTEND?
Absolutely! Service animals are warmly welcomed across the Kingdom.
CAN I BRING SWORDS OR PROPS?
For everyone’s safety, no real or bladed weapons are allowed. Replica swords must remain sheathed. Foam, wooden, or plastic props are welcome provided they’re used responsibly. When in doubt, ask a steward before entering.
DO YOU HOST CORPORATE OR GROUP BOOKINGS?
Indeed! From feasts to field games, the Kingdom of Loxwood makes a memorable setting for private gatherings and corporate revels. Email emily@thekingdomofloxwood.com to begin your plans.
WILL CARD PAYMENTS BE ACCEPTED?
Some traders accept card, but not all. Cashback is available at the entrance. Bring a pouch of coins to ensure no treasure escapes you.
ARE DOGS WELCOME?
Well-behaved hounds on leads are welcome provided they’re comfortable with horses, drums, and loud noises. Please keep them leashed and tidy up after them.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
Then we dance in it! The Joust continues come rain or shine. Bring cloaks and courage only in rare, severe weather would we issue updates via our website and social scrolls.
CAN I SET UP A GAZEBO OR TENT?
No personal structures and large umbrellas are not permitted as they block the view of others.
