Chapter 2025
The Royal DECISION
Whispers ripple through the Kingdom – Queen Helena’s reign is strong, but an ancient law threatens it all. Unless she marries before the final Joust of the summer, the throne will be lost. The fate of the Kingdom, and perhaps true love, hangs in the balance. All shall be revealed at the final Joust.
Meet the Characters
Queen Helena
The Queen of Loxwood may wear a crown, but make no mistake – she earned it in single combat and rules with wit, strength, and an uncanny talent for face painting.
Helena, cousin to the late King Harold (the Humble), wasn’t handed the throne – she took it. Since then, she’s ended wars (farewell, Guildford), rewritten laws, and built a Mead empire that fuels the realm and fills thy pouches.
Loved by nobles and common folk alike, she now holds court in the Royal Quarter, where one might find her bestowing knighthoods or brokering peace between provinces.
Where to find her: The Royal Quarter.
How to greet her: “Your Majesty shines out like a thousand suns” or “The day is made brighter by your presence, Your Majesty.
Sergeant Timber & Constable Mulch
If Sergeant Ambrose Timber has nearly solved more crimes than most have encountered, though the total remains stubbornly close to zero.
Beside him, Constable Theodore Mulch, a man with the timing of a slightly lost sheep, often arrives just after the action, with a cheerful nod and entirely unhelpful advice.
Together, they form a duo so unthreatening that even the local squirrels don’t bother hiding their nuts anymore.
Where to find them: Wandering the Royal Quarter, often a few steps behind the action.
How to greet them: “Any nearly solved cases today, Sergeant?” or “Keep up the good work, Constable!”.
Rhed, Bees Herrington
The Baconites
Rhed Herrington, the bellowing force behind this red-and-gold brigade, is a legend among the faithful – the loudest voice in The Trough and a man who once started a chant that lasted three days.
Beside him stands Bees Herrington, his wife and the true mastermind behind the mayhem – sharp-tongued and louder than a battlefield horn. She once heckled a knight so fiercely, he fell off his horse.
Together, they lead a ferocious, forest-dwelling horde whose longhouse is stuffed with enough Boars memorabilia to cover a small village.
Where to find them: The Trough.
How to greet them: “For the Boars!”
