TALE OF 2026: the masks of loxwood
To mark one year of union with Prince Peatre, Queen Helena summons nobles and commoners alike to the grand finale of summer. A day of feasting, jests, and masked revelry beneath a thousand banners. Yet as the Parade of Masks gives way to a ritual dance at dusk, whispers of the Cult of the Golden Fox and the elusive Perplexor spread through the crowd. In a season where faces are hidden and truths obscured, one thing is certain: not every smile is sincere, and not every secret stays buried. Bring your finest mask to the Loxwood Joust Celebration 2026, and lose yourself in the mystery.
CHARACTERS OF THE KINGDOM
QUEEN HELENA
The Queen of Loxwood earned her crown in single combat and rules with wit, strength, and a flair for face painting. She ended wars, built a mead empire, and now holds court in the Royal Quarter, beloved by nobles and commoners alike.
PRINCE PEATRE
Eccentric, extravagant, and endlessly inventive. Not technically a prince, though he’ll say otherwise, Peatre was raised on equal parts nobility and nonsense. He once bought an entire tavern while disguised as “Peter Rince” to win back Queen Helena. Now King Regent, his rule is as unpredictable as his wardrobe.
SERGEANT TIMBER
Loxwood’s ever-vigilant investigator of crimes that rarely seem to exist. Armed with a notebook, a magnifying glass, and unshakable confidence, Sergeant Timber has nearly solved more mysteries than most have ever heard of... though his official success count remains stubbornly at zero. Still, his enthusiasm for justice (and tea breaks) knows no bounds. If something goes missing in the Kingdom, you’ll find Timber there making meticulous notes, asking the wrong questions, and absolutely convinced he’s moments away from a breakthrough.
THE BACONITES
Leaders of the red-and-gold horde known as The Baconites, Rhed and Bees Herrington are equal parts chaos and charm. Rhed, the booming voice of the crowd, once began a chant that echoed through The Trough for three whole days. At his side, Bees, quick-witted and sharp as a spear tip. She has been known to bring knights to their knees with nothing but her words (and volume). Together they command their forest stronghold, walls draped in Boars banners, tankards raised high, and laughter that carries clear across the meadow.
